We are looking for an Assistant Account Executive to join the J&C team located in downtown Chicago. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented with a high level of organizational skill. This position will assist the account team with communicating client deadlines, jobs and revisions through the agency. They also assist with reviewing and proofing projects before they make it to the client. They are curious, collaborative and eager to learn and grow in a small agency setting.

Essential Functions:

  • Proofs and QC’s all materials at each stage of the development process
  • Assists with preparation of creative briefs for projects as directed by Account Executives, Account Supervisors and/or Directors
  • Ensures requested revisions are made, produces client recaps and emails to appropriate client contacts and maintains appropriate files
  • Prepares client correspondence as necessary including primary responsibility for updating and distributing weekly status report to clients and daily hot sheets to internal staff
  • Monitors activity on assigned projects and communicates status of each project to appropriate agency and client contacts
  • Takes and distributes meeting notes
  • Learns to work independently to become a point or go- to person (both internally and externally) on smaller projects that Account Supervisor/ Director assigns AAE to manage
  • Tackles other tasks as assigned

 

Skills Required:

  • Extremely organized; able to sort, file and retrieve information logically and easily
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Multitask oriented; able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines under stress
  • Detail oriented; attentive and accurate
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Ability to communicate to agency staff and clients both verbally and in writing
  • A good listener
  • Ability to project and instill confidence in others
  • Exhibits basic understanding of various agency functions, including creative development, production, quality control and proofing.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, English, journalism or liberal arts
  • 2+ years’ experience in an agency or client equivalent as an AAE or Account Coordinator
