Whirlpool Corporation is seeking a Connections Strategist for an exciting and first-of-its-kind division codenamed: WoW Studios. Tasked with innovating the consumer experience and building the future of marketing at Whirlpool, WoW Studios the next generation of in-house advertising, storytelling, and experience. With deep support from executive leadership, armed with the latest digital marketing tools, and award-winning creative and experienced talent, our goal is nothing short of super-charging Whirlpool Corporation by improving lives inside millions of homes.
 

Delivering work for iconic brands like Jennair, KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana and more, this highly visible, business-critical division will be heavily invested in transforming how these brands connect with consumers along the entire customer decision journey — pre and post purchase. At the edge of the Chicago Riverwalk, WoW Studios’ North American headquarters is located in the historic Reid Murdoch Building

In this role, you will work on connection strategy for an always-on communications and content publishing program.  You will be adept at identifying micro-moments in the consumer decision journey, and have a deep understanding of what motivates consumers.  You’ll get to work across the full portfolio of Whirlpool brands.  You will play a critical role as the bridge between different agency specialisms:  brand strategy, content strategy, media planning, and creative. You will be a master of customer-first, right-person, right-message, right time connections strategy.  You will also have a good appreciation for the importance of effectiveness at both the tactical and program level, and understand the most effective mediums to use to carry the ideas. Data knowledge, technology platforms experience and media savviness are important, as is your love of great creative ideas. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver audience-first connections strategies that inspire creative briefs, creative work, award-winning ideas, category insights, trend reports, and product innovations.
  • Conduct audience research through sentiment analysis, social listening, and other ethnographic research using insights tools like Kantar, GWI, MRI Simmons, etc.
  • Familiarity with growth strategy, SEO, and content strategy.
  • Work with strategy team to size audiences and understand audience engagement with content, as well as their media consumption habits. 
  • Develop data-driven communication strategies supporting the activation of integrated campaigns and content publishing programs.
  • Provide insight into new channels/tools/technology to activate concepts.
  • Decide on the most relevant touchpoints, messages and/or audiences, ultimately working on bringing the creative idea to life in the best way.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in connections strategy, media strategy, or experience strategy.

  • Able to translate strategy conception to business impact. 
  • Has an intuitive understanding of how to build communities and create digital ecosystems. 
  • Is technologically proficient in relevant platforms: able to translate their understanding of key consumer and organizational digital platforms into integrated strategic approaches that help solve business problems..
  • Has a working knowledge of social & digital platforms and their capabilities.
  • Confidence and credibility to hold high-level strategic discussions with multiple internal partners, across disciplines and levels.
  • Exceptional presentation skills and workmanship.
  • Ability to work efficiently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
