The Social Channel was created to take advantage of emerging opportunities in the digital sports marketplace. The company partners with sports leagues to build digital businesses that grow audience and drive revenue. Most recently, the company partnered on a groundbreaking initiative with the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), the largest global women’s sport. The Social Channel, with the WTA created WTA Networks, which now houses the league’s entire digital ecosystem. The Social Channel is further expanding this successful social sport content model to other leagues and sports organizations around the globe. Job The Social Channel is looking for a full-time WTA Networks Sales Executive to join their production team. Working closely with the CEO of The Social Channel and the President of the WTA, this role will be crucial to the development and success of Sponsorship Sales.
The Head of Sponsorship Sales is responsible for overseeing the sponsorship sales and fulfillment activities for the digital network. The role will require collaboration across internal stakeholders within the WTA, Social Channel (e.g. Operations, Editorial, Production, Digital and Legal) and external stakeholders (e.g., Global Broadcast partners, technology partners) to maximize all revenue opportunities.
Build and manage a team of up to three (two Account Executives and one Sales Coordinator) to meet organizational revenue goals.
Maximize revenue opportunity by researching and exploring all sponsorship inventory available for the tour.
Identify potential brand partners and develop meaningful relationships with key-decision makers to sell in sponsorship opportunities.
Develop competitive pricing structure and create strategic sales presentations and standard packages to present to senior-level executives.
Negotiate and execute sponsorship deals in collaboration with teams and broadcast partners.
Develop fulfillment processes to ensure deal compliance and review performance.
-Bachelor’s Degree required 7-10 years of experience in sports media/sponsorship sales experience.
-Strong leadership skills with track record of managing and motivating effective teams.
-Self-starter, goal-oriented with strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced and time sensitive environment.
-Proven ability to network and develop strategic relationships with clients/agencies/brands.
-Strong presentation, business, and negotiation skills.
-Proven decision-making skills and problem-solving skills.
-Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Willingness to travel and work non-traditional hours, within a sports league atmosphere.
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
-Deep understanding of the sport of Tennis and the business of Tennis.
