She Runs It is a Century+ old organization with roots and origins in membership and service to a community united in its intention to see more women as leaders. Established in 1912 – eight years before the 19th Amendment was ratified – as “League of Advertising Women”, She Runs It has evolved to be a global organization with a mission to pave the way for more women to lead at every career level. For us, “She” stands for every individual who experiences the challenges women face in marketing, media, and tech…and all of their allies. We exist to help our community stay strong, current, connected and included.
The Role
The Membership Manager is responsible for supporting our national expansion through memberships, communications, programming and committee relationships in the west coast regions. The West Coast Manager is responsible for building a She Runs It Community in this rather new and growing active market. Must be able to anticipate project needs across departments, demonstrate technical/trouble-shooting ability, discern work priorities, leadership and meet deadlines with little supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Membership onboarding lead, this involves onboarding West Coast Members on a weekly basis and ensuring they are added to the organization’s communication flow.
- Serve as liaison to West Coast committees alongside committee co-chairs and work to carry out committee’s initiatives. Currently, there are 2 committees established, but as growth continues, you will set up additional committees.
- West Coast Leadership Development Committee
- Responsibilities will include:
- Programming 2-5 thought leadership events in- person/Virtual
- Hosting networking circles for West Coast Membership
- Responsibilities will include:
- West Coast Mentoring Committee
- Responsibilities will include:
- Help shape mentoring program with fellow mentoring leads
- Lead pairing sessions alongside committee members
- Lead two 9 month mentoring programs
- Responsibilities will include:
- Assist in marketing ideas & making suggestions for improvements based on observations for your membership.
- Create and implement membership programs and initiatives to engage current members and recruit new members.
- Maintaining membership database, analyzing member trends and reports at staff meetings.
- Serve as Point of Contact to some of our Corporate Alliance Partners alongside fellow membership leads.
- Responsibilities will include:
- Nurture relationships with Corporate Alliance Partner Companies and engage with members.
- Quarterly check-ins with Internal Corporate Alliance ambassadors to share upcoming events and programs, and host info sessions for corporate alliance partner’s employees.

Qualifications:
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Superior project and time management skills; excellent attention to detail
- Creative problem-solver, tech-savvy, self-motivated, and highly organized
- Previous experience with a membership-based organization
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and work assignments
- Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrate the ability to conduct and lead monthly committee meetings alongside co-chairs.
- Ability to work independently and in a team/collaborative work environment
- Energetic, enthusiastic and service-oriented. Is responsive and has the ability to foster relationships.
- Experience with WordPress or other website management tools
- Knowledge of email marketing best practices, first-hand experience with MailChimp and/or other email marketing services
- Proficient in the latest versions of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Google Docs
- Basic graphic design skills: understanding of graphic programs (like Canva)
- Willingness and readiness to learn new platforms and software as our team expands nationally
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or Hospitality Management preferred
