We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer with a deep interest in and passion for automation design, delivering world class systems, and development and problem solving, as well as someone who likes to analyze, build, and break things and tends to be curious about learning how software functions.

We’re looking for someone who’s proficient in QA and QE principles and contributes to an enthusiastic and positive work environment. In this position, you will write test plans, automation frameworks and other testing artifacts for the AccuWeather.com product-line to provide a meaningful impact on our end-user experience. You will be a member of the Quality Engineering team ensuring quality is delivered for our products on time and with high quality.

AccuWeather has multiple openings for Senior Quality Engineers to join our team and work on either the AccuWeather.com or AccuWeather For Business product-lines. Remote candidates are being considered for this mid-level opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and executes test cases, scripts, plans and procedures, both manual and automated
  • Contributes to test strategies, estimation and planning in an Agile environment
  • Develops scalable, repeatable test automation systems
  • Develops cross-platform automation frameworks
  • Coordinates, scripts, and retrieves test data through mock API and data scenarios
  • Identify areas of improvement and drives an automation first approach
  • Collaborates with Quality Engineering, Development and Support teams
  • Reviews technical specs for accuracy and completeness
  • Builds relationships across functions and departments
  • Mentors junior members of the team to help them grow in their careers
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • BS/BA in related discipline with 5 or more years of experience in related field – OR – MS/MA and 2 or more years of experience in related field
  • Demonstrated experience with automation and developing an automation framework, including with cloud-based, web and mobile automation frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience with test automation tools (Selenium, SauceLabs, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of programming languages such as C# or Java
  • Comprehensive knowledge of scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Ruby
  • Advocate for CI/CD with an automate first mindset
  • Experience with automated end-to-end validation through API’s and data, along with mocking data and APIs to meet QA needs
  • Self-driven with good problem-solving skills; adaptable and willing to take ownership and accountable for decisions
  • Good verbal and written communication and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and analysis in bringing successful resolution to moderate and large projects
  • Understanding of unit testing frameworks and tools
  • Understanding of security principles, standards, and conventions
