Describe your career journey.  My initial career aspiration was in radio. I interned at WXRT during college and worked professionally on the air in Peoria for several years. But I wanted to come home and I knew I that the road home (to Chicago) in this craft was circuitous, so I came back and started my journey in marketing. I worked client side and supplier side for many years, eventually founding my own company. During my tenure at my company I had the good fortune to work at several large agencies as an interim Group Acct. Director…I loved the agency life. So, I sold my company and dove into agency life full time finally ending up running J&C.

Which three words would you use to describe your personality? Engaging – Positive – Disciplined 

What committees/programs are you involved in with She Runs It? In my first year as a member, I joined the Chicago Ambassadors committee to open up the most interactions possible, learn about SRI and to give back by attending events to spread the word.

How has participating on the Ambassador’s Program helped with your own personal and career development? It has opened up a network of likeminded people who are always willing to network and share advise. The programs fill me up and offer encouragement and community. Every SRI member I have met is positive and excited about our chosen craft

Name a woman who inspires you and why. Amelia Earhart is my hero. She was brave and courageous on many fronts, not letting the roadblocks of the times stop her from her dream. This quote of hers is a mantra for me “Courage is the price that life exacts for granting peace” AE

What does the words “She Runs It” mean to you? It means confidence, determination, resolve and courage.
