Describe your career journey. 

I started at a small advertising agency in Madison, Wisconsin, right out of college where I worked on 12+ brands in a wide range of industries including water treatment systems, convenience stores, transportation, healthcare, fitness, banking, etc. I moved to Chicago 5 years ago and wanted to focus on and gain experience going deep on one brand. I’ve been working at Energy BBDO ever since, working on SC Johnson brands like Ziploc, Windex and Drano.

Which three words would you use to describe your personality?

Tenacious. Confident. Diligent.

What committees/programs are you involved in with She Runs It?

The Leadership Development Committee and I am also a mentor in the Mentorship Program.

How has participating in the leadership development committee helped with your own personal and career development? 

It’s allowed me to meet other intelligent, driven ladies and work with people outside of my specific company. It’s also given me a way to contribute to something I’m passionate about outside of my daily job.

Name a woman who inspires you and why. 

As cliché as this might sound, I have to say, my mom. She has a really interesting background/story including opening our home to over 25 foster kids and foreign exchange students and dedicating her entire adult life to youth education. She somehow managed her 9-5 job, kept a mostly sane household and raised all of her kids, all with grace and a good sense of humor. She’s always remained true to herself and stood up for what she believed in and I’m truly inspired by her.

What do the words “She Runs It” mean to you?

It means leadership but from a perspective, only a badass female can bring.
