Describe your career journey. I graduated with a degree in Advertising from the University of Illinois and was fortunate to land a job in media shortly thereafter. I spent almost 13 years in media strategy at various agencies, working on some great brands including IKEA, MillerCoors and Kraft. After figuring out that there was a way to take the aspects of my job that I excelled in (and liked!) and have those BE my job, I decided to move to the “other side” and start in digital sales for PureWow, a women’s lifestyle publisher. I’ve now been with PureWow and our parent company, Gallery Media Group, for over 4 years and could not be more proud to represent this company! Our industry in Chicago is small and I’m constantly amazed with the paths that continue to cross along the way – that is, by far, one of my favorite parts of this industry!

Which three words would you use to describe your personality? Empathetic, Genuine, Adaptable

What committees/programs are you involved in with She Runs It? Leadership Development Committee  and the Mentorship Program, both of which I’ve participated in since She Runs It came to Chicago in 2016.

How has participating in the Leadership Development committee helped with your own personal and career development? I love being part of the inner workings of the She Runs It organization. Like anything else, you get as much out of it as you put in, so I try to take a more active role (i.e. attend meetings, speak up, volunteer, etc.). Helping to plan and providing input on upcoming C-Suite and Networking events has been a truly great experience. Since I work from home, it’s also given me a network of people I can turn to not only learn from, but have some fun with as well!

Name a woman who inspires you and why. My mom. She is one of the most determined people I know and has the ability to accomplish anything she puts her mind to. She also has more ideas than anyone I’ve ever met – always thinking of something new – whether it’s something to do, a solution to a problem or a suggestion on how to handle a situation, she’s your (my!) woman!
