Education Loan Relief: Funding and Furnishing the Future

In 2020, thanks to the passionate persistence of Jacki Kelley and the She Runs It Foundation Board, our organization wrote education loan relief checks to 16 rising stars across the marketing, media, and tech industries. Since we started writing checks 8 years ago, She Runs It has donated close to $1 million to help more than 90 women ease the burden of their student loan debt. Now as we look toward another year of giving – loan relief applications will be available on September 8th – we are proud and grateful to be receiving a new kind of support from Dorel Home’s CosmoLiving and Corporate Alliance Partner Hearst.

To recognize the back-to-school season and a hopeful start for students, CosmoLiving and Hearst are donating $10,000 from September furniture sales to She Runs It. The collaboration, called “Furnish the Future”, will run from September 7 through 30. As part of the campaign, Dorel Home (the home furnishings division of Dorel Industries Inc.), is also donating CosmoLiving by Cosmopolitan furniture to loan relief candidates throughout the remainder of the year.

The furniture will come from a new back-to-school collection of furniture and accessories that CosmoLiving is debuting. It features modern-vintage desks, beds, sofas, coffee tables and home décor (you can check it out on Wayfair.com and Amazon.com among other online retailers).

Claudia Grundman, Senior Director Global Brand Partnerships at Dorel Home, described the motivation for the donation and the partnership, saying: “After such a challenging 2020/2021 school year, it was important for us to put some positive energy into the world as several students head back to class. By helping relieve a portion student loan debt, we hope to contribute to the bright and successful future we know the recipients are destined for.”

She Runs It’s legacy of reducing loan burden is made possible through the generous donations of Corporate Alliance Partners like dentsu, Disney, Fox, Hearst, Google, Teads, and ViacomCBS. Applicants must be She Runs It members for at least one year to be eligible to apply.

This donation from Dorel Home’s CosmoLiving by Cosmopolitan and Hearst will help propel another rising star in marketing, media, and tech to achieve her full potential, and the added gift of furniture adds a wonderful new dimension of support that we can provide to our loan relief recipients.
