Job Summary

The Ad Council is looking for a Manager, Media Strategy who will serve as a leader within the Media Strategy & Engagement Center of Excellence, specifically focused on Media Strategy and Planning work. Reporting to Ad Council’s Senior Director, Group Lead, Media Strategy, this person supports campaigns with strategy and media planning services and counsel. Day to day, this person leads strategy and media planning across multiple campaign teams ensuring media insights are integrated in campaign development and inform media distribution plans. This role is also responsible for tracking campaign impact and KPIs through the lens of media. In addition, the Manager, Media Strategy will support the Media Strategy group in weekly and quarterly planning tracking and managing strategic campaign recommendation requests from Media Engagement colleagues. They own media plans – the organization, maintenance, and distribution – which serve as a crucial communication tool to the entire organization about status of all media activations.

The compensation for this position is within the range of $70,000 – $80,000 annually (based on experience level). The compensation package also includes an annual incentive, comprehensive benefit offerings, and generous paid time off.

 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as media strategist on national public service campaign teams establishing goals and driving strategy alignment across all stakeholders in the campaign development process
  • Ensure media insights are integrated into internal creative process
  • Support Senior Director, Media Strategy with ensuring media placements and partnerships align with campaign audience segments, contextual framing and KPIs.
  • Lead preparations for quarterly planning for Media Strategy, ensuring organization and efficiency for planning sessions; pull and distribute finalized media plans on a monthly basis.
  • Support Annual Planning process, leveraging new data processes including collaboration with Analytics & Insights team to incorporate data into our analysis to better inform recommendations and outreach to media partners
  • Work cross-functionally with Campaign Development, Analytics, Communications, Digital, Business Development and Senior Management to ensure media strategy is at the core of campaign development and distribution for assigned campaign docket
  • Manage media agency relationships for multiple campaigns; set objectives; identify performance metrics; lead meetings; manage communication back to campaign teams and sponsors

 

 

What you bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in Strategy and Media Planning
  • Media or Advertising Agency experience is strongly preferred.
  • Clear and thoughtful communication skills; ability to work with internal and external stakeholders across all levels
  • Experience using major media planning tools required (Comscore, Nielsen Media Impact, Global Web Index, MRI); ability to interpret media data points like Reach and Index
  • Experience building and presenting media plans; knowledge of how media channels work together; preferred Salesforce and Smartsheet experience
  • Foundational understanding of programmatic media
  • Passionate about equity and inclusion. Has ideas about how Ad Council can grow cultural representation in media, as well as support minority owned businesses through our work.
