She Runs It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that serves members who work in the marketing, media, and tech industries. Our mission is to pave the way for more women of every identity, ethnicity and background to lead at every stage of her career, and we do this by delivering a robust calendar of programming that spans mentorship, leadership development, networking, loan grants, and much more.

Our Story!

We believed in the power of women long before they had a seat at the table.

Established in 1912 – eight years before the 19th amendment was ratified – as the “League of Advertising Women”, She Runs It has evolved to be a global community of 6,000+ members across more than 40 states and 12 countries. Subsequently named Advertising Women of New York, we ultimately became She Runs It in 2016 in recognition of the fact that our community had grown beyond just New York, and our industry had expanded beyond just Advertising.
