According to eMarketer, US retail media ad spend is expected to grow by more than one-quarter in 2023, surpassing $51 billion. Forrester projects it to reach $85 billion by 2026. Already explosive, there is still a lot to learn about this nascent channel, with in-store media and shoppable video promising exponential growth and opportunity. What exactly is retail media? How does it scale? Why is the data they generate so valuable and unique? Will they reach a tipping point and what might that look like?
