The C-Suite Diversity Quandary

According to the 2023 #Inclusive100 Survey, only 8% of executive leaders in our industry are women of color. Why are these numbers still so disproportionate to the population when the impact of diverse perspectives and voices on business success has been repeatedly proven? The current C-Suite holds the key – leaders need to prioritize, proselytize, and incentivize the development and elevation of diverse leaders. Not to meet goals or quotas, but rather to improve business outcomes. In this conversation, two c-suiters will delve into the complexities of achieving diversity in the C-suite.

Speakers:

Preeti Nadgar, Chief Strategy Officer, EssenceMediacom

Michelle Schloman, Chief Data & Analytics Officer, Omnicom Commerce Group

Lessons in DEI Determination

The industry doesn’t need another crisis to honor its DEI pledges. It needs intention. While tech disruption and economic turmoil have diverted the attention of some execs, there are many leaders who are holding themselves accountable to the DEI commitments they continue to make and meet. Marketers and other industry execs are taking action and gaining traction in the movement toward a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable industry. In this conversation, She Runs It goes to school on leaders who are making DEI progress real.

Diverse Representation in Media and Culture: Stream It. Be It.

Media and advertising shape attitudes about people and culture. And when it comes to media content, streaming is leading the way in representing diverse communities, accounting for a significant portion of inclusive content currently available. What are the streaming platforms doing right? And what can traditional TV and other media do to achieve broader and more authentic representation? In this engaging conversation, industry experts will discuss how increased visibility of underrepresented communities can inspire a more inclusive and tolerant world.
