Lead the Change: Raise your voice, move your feet, pursue equality

The She Runs It Multicultural Committees proudly present the 9th Annual Multicultural Bootcamp 2021. This year’s event is all about intention, action, and outcomes. Join us during the week of April 19th for a daily dose of information, inspiration, instruction, and networking as we seek to create systemic change and shape corporate cultures that proactively invite people of color to join and succeed in our industry.

Day 3: Wednesday, April 21

OPTIONAL: NETWORKING CIRCLES – When you RSVP, please check YES if you wish to participate in the daily optional networking opportunity. P
lease note: Networking Circles will start at 10:30am ET and you will be sent a separate Zoom link to tune in.

SESSION FOUR: Hire & Inspire

Contrary to popular opinion, the pipeline is NOT a barrier to hiring multicultural talent. Companies just need to be intentional about where and how they seek candidates. This panel of DEI leaders will discuss new rules of recruiting and hiring to achieve greater equities in the workforce. They will also reveal the policies, processes and practices that can help ensure new hires are supported by an inclusive team and organization that will prioritize and preserve high employee retention rates.

SPEAKERS:

  • MODERATOR: Esther (E.T.) Franklin, President, Global Strategy | Cultural Fluency, Spark Foundry
  • Kimberly Cummings, Founder, Manifest Yourself, Career and Leadership Consultant
  • Ericka Riggs, Chief DEI Officer, Omnicom Specialty Marketing Group (OSMG)
  • Sophia Zeinu, Vice President of Equity and Inclusion Strategies, WarnerMedia
  • Nicole Hughey, Vice President, Head of Diversity and Inclusion, SiriusXM

SESSION FIVE: Influence & Introspection: Developing Your Ally Playbook (Interactive Workshop)

Every successful leader will attribute her rise in large part to the allies and comrades she was able to nurture and rely on throughout her career. Getting this right requires a clear understanding of your current spheres of influence and strategies for filling gaps to achieve the strongest community of allies. This series of guided exercises and break-out conversations will help you create a playbook for expanding your spheres of influence to optimize your personal and professional support system.

WORKSHOP LEADER: Veronica Appleton, Phd-abd, CDP, Vice President, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, The Marketing Arm
