Mastering Leadership – Present and Future
As Sheryl Sandberg artfully said, “I recommend adopting two concurrent goals: a long-term dream and an eighteen-month plan.” Wise words from a senior leader to guide rising stars. Such wisdom is too often dispensed through executive coaching and leadership development that is limited to those who have already achieved success. We aim to fill the gap. Join She Runs It’s Mastering Leadership event for advice that will help you make an impact today while achieving your vision for tomorrow. Marisa Thalberg, EVP, Chief Brand and Marketing Officer at Lowe’s, will discuss the skills, communication styles and networks that propelled her leadership journey. Following the conversation, we will break into workshop sessions designed to advance individual career strategies, leadership skills and financial wellness.

Empathy Makes Leaders Workshop
Do you want to lead a company? Build a team? Make a sale? Engage a customer? You’re going to need an essential but often underestimated ingredient: EMPATHY. Leaders who equate success to toughness and self-sacrifice too often fail to develop the critical ability to understand another person’s experience, perspective and feelings. The personal and business costs can be high.
In this workshop, you’ll discover how to nurture an empathetic mindset as a superpower. You will learn the connection between empathy, business outcomes and performance. You’ll walk away with new strategies for self-support (stop beating yourself up), stronger relationships with others, and lessons for liberating a happier, more resilient and successful YOU.

Demystifying Career Advancement Workshop:
In Alli’s signature keynote/workshop, “Demystifying Career Advancement,” attendees walk away inspired to own their career development and finally know how. Alli shares what she learned during her 20-year career in technology and year-long study of career advancement. She breaks down the five skills we all need to advance and explores how these skills can be incorporated into new behaviors. Attendees leave with new strategies to think about how to navigate their career, two methods of self-advocating (“Always On” and “The Big Ask”), and best practices for making sure they get recognized for their great work and seen for their impact.
