Student loan debt is one of the greatest barriers holding women back from financial freedom and leadership. Women earn nearly 60% of all college degrees, yet they carry two-thirds of the nation’s $1.7 trillion in student loan debt. And because women still earn less on average than men, those loans take longer to pay off, delaying opportunities to grow, invest, and lead.
She Runs It is determined to change that narrative. We created the Education Loan Grant Program in 2012 to ease the burden, providing direct financial relief to women in marketing, media, and tech who are working hard to advance their careers. Over the past decade, we’ve awarded nearly $1.5 million in grants to more than 150 rising stars. Now, through our new Learners to Leaders campaign, we’re setting an ambitious goal to reach $2 million in Education Loan Grants by 2027. We need your help to get there.
We’re starting with a grassroots challenge called 30 Donations in 30 Days. It’s simple. Here’s what you should do:
- Encourage your friends and colleagues to go to sherunsit.org/donate (you can also donate, and if you’re a She Runs It member, log into your dashboard before you donate)
- You/they should click the “Dedicate the Donation” field and add YOUR first and last name (not their own name, we want you to get credit for the gift)
- You/they should click “yes” under Donate to the Education Loan Grant Fund
Every gift will help lift another woman closer to financial freedom. The person who inspires the most donations and the person who generates the largest sum total will each receive a free ticket to the 2025 Changing the Game Awards on November 6, where we’ll celebrate women who lead with courage, creativity, and conviction.
This campaign is about more than money. It’s about creating space for women to lead without the weight of debt. Your support can transform a learner into a leader and a dream into reality.
