The future of work isn’t something waiting for us around the corner. It’s already here. Every day, members of our community across marketing, media, and tech are being asked to adapt faster, lead smarter, and find balance in the chaos of nonstop change. Managing what’s right in front of us while preparing for what comes next is exactly what She Runs It’s new FutureProof initiative was created to help you do.

Following the September launch of FutureProof, we’re excited to debut the first event in the series: Managing in the Moment, led by Doug Weaver, Founder and CEO of Upstream Group. For more than three decades, Doug has coached and inspired executives to lead with clarity, confidence, and humanity. Now, he’s bringing his expertise to the She Runs It community in a virtual session (free to members!), designed to help you work smarter and lead stronger.

In this first workshop, Doug will share actionable strategies for:

-Managing up with confidence so your voice carries weight

-Empowering teams without fostering dependence

-Leading people, not just projects

-Protecting your energy while developing habits that create long-term success

Don’t expect theory. Expect practical advice for succeeding in tomorrow’s workplace. As Peter Drucker once wrote, “The greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence …  it’s to act with yesterday’s logic.”That insight captures the spirit of Managing in the Moment perfectly. The session is about learning to navigate new realities with a fresh perspective, leading with intention instead of instinct, and curiosity instead of caution.

Managing in the Moment is the first of many FutureProof experiences to come. She Runs It will host quarterly sessions throughout 2026 to explore the evolving challenges and opportunities that shape our work: from leading through the disruption of AI to building resilient, inclusive teams. Each event will fuel our community with actionable ideas and meaningful advice.

The future won’t slow down, but with preparation and purpose, we can all stay a step ahead.
