This newsletter comes to you on a day of historic importance. It is election day in America 2024.

It feels like our community – indeed the nation – is holding its collective breath, simultaneously hopeful and terrified. If you are among the millions who are wringing their hands, worried about the outcome, I’d like you to take a few actions please. First, if you haven’t already done so, vote. Each of us has a right and responsibility to be heard, and a vote is an essential expression of our determination to shape the world we live in.

Second, stay focused on our mission. No matter what happens in this election, who we are and what we stand for will be unchanged. When the results of this election are ultimately known, we will continue to pave the way for more women from all walks of life—regardless of background, ethnicity, or identity—to lead at every level of their career in marketing, media, and technology.

Third, keep working. Whether the election outcomes align with your hopes or not, remember this: our journey, our progress, and our mission transcend any single election cycle. The history of women’s progress is one of resilience, adaptability, and an unyielding spirit. We are about to write another chapter in a story we are shaping together—a story of empowerment, leadership, and relentless pursuit of equality.

And to the women who comprise our community and our industry, know this: your place at the table is more vital than ever. Women have continually proven to be good for business, delivering fresh perspectives and meaningful change. Our contributions are felt in boardrooms, classrooms, communities, and beyond. The work we do shapes the future as powerfully as any legislative body.

So, whatever happens, remember that our resolve and purpose are not fragile. So much can change, but in the most essential ways, She Runs It will stay the same. We will still lift each other up, strive for fairness, and amplify voices that need to be heard. As a member of our Operating Board reminded us all a week before the election: No matter who wins the election, She Still Runs It.
